DOCTORS

The nearest Doctors’ Practice is the Midway Surgery on the Watford Road, just beyond the M10 bridge. Full list of Doctors in St. Albans.

There is a Red Cross Loan Centre in Abbey Avenue. This provides loan equipment to elderly and Infirm residents and Visitors. Tel: 854640.

HOSPITALS

There is a minor injuries unit a St. Albans Hospital.  The nearest Accident and Emergency department is at Hemel Hempstead Hospital this incorporates a ‘See and Treat’ unit which should be quicker than the old triage approach as there is a Doctor or Emergency Nurse practitioner on duty. The See and Treat is open from 09:00-22:30 M-F and 11:00- 23:00 at weekends, at other times the standard A&E service applies. Watford Hospital has a Childrens A&E which is open until 21:00.

CHURCHES

The local churches are St Stephen’s (Church of England) at King Harry/Watford Road junction; St Michael’s (Church of England), Bluehouse Hilll, St Michael’s Village; St Bartholomew’s (Roman Catholic), Vesta Avenue off Watling Street; United Reform Church, Watford Road, Chiswell Green.

Westminster Lodge Snorts Centre (includes Swimming Pools); Abbey View 9-Hole Golf Course; Running Track - at the bottom of St Stephen’s Hill.

VERULAMIUM PARK

Verulamium Park has a beautiful lake and an excellent Museum housing artefacts from the Roman City of Verulamium.

ST. STEPHENS PARK

St. Stephens Park lies just off St.Stephens Avenue and is surprisingly large with it’s own childrens play facilities
